CHURCH HILL — After seizing suspected cocaine and methamphetamine during the execution of search warrants, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office on March 3 charged a Chestertown man with multiple counts of possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute.
Montrail Garcel Miller, 35, is being held in the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center without bail pending a preliminary hearing later this month.
The court-ordered search warrants were for Miller and his 2007 GMC pickup truck, according to a news release.
The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force served the warrants at about 11:30 a.m. while Miller was traveling east on state Route 544 near Ewingtown Road.
According to the news release, police seized 13.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 10.6 grams of suspected powdered cocaine, 17.0 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 7.2 grams of suspected marijuana, a working digital scale, resealable storage bags and $253 in U.S. currency.
Police also took Miller’s pickup truck.
The Sheriff’s Community Oriented Police Engagement (SCOPE) Team assisted with execution of the warrants.
Miller’s preliminary hearing is March 31 in Queen Anne’s County District Court. At that time a judge will determine if there is probable cause to believe Miller committed the offenses.
